Mages

Humans with the ability to control the natural and unnatural forces in our world, these members of the supernatural community are the only ones that can blend seamlessly into human society. Vampires are harmed by sunlight, werewolves operate at a high level of tension that threatens to boil over to rage at any moment and must be kept in check, and changelings through both varying levels of emotional damage and physical appearance never quite fit in with humans. Mages therefore have become the public representatives of the supernaturals in the world of human politics. On paper Councilman Smith constituents are all the residents of the French Quarter but in reality he is represented the interested of the vampires who bars require liquor licenses and health department approvals.

There is also another side of mages, they control the public works of the city, and use these to build a massive network of facilities for the study of magic known as the chimera network. There are many large hidden ceremonial chambers in various parts of the city which are used for various arcane purposes in the study of magic. There is also a large effort to educate young mages in the theory of magic. Given the collaborative nature of the work done within the chimera network, the location of many of the network facilities are public knowledge among supernaturals. It is however rumored that there is a massive secret facility located somewhere known as the ‘white palace’.

Most of the construction work done for these city contracts is subcontracted through green sun holdings, a mage run corporation. Carlisle works as a consultant at green sun.
